Love FOR animals on Valentine's Day

Five animal-friendly tips to make your heart feel better this Valentine's Day

2/7/2025

1. Choose tasty, animal-friendly snacks

Candies, chocolates and other sweets are proven classics on Valentine's Day. All the better if they don't include hidden animal suffering. Pay attention to sweets containing palm oil, as the production is not only ecologically very questionable but also endangers the habitat of many endangered rain forest animals, such as orangutans. Also, many baked goods unfortunately still have cage eggs in baked goods, sadly are rarely labeled. Animal-friendly alternatives make hearts beat faster!

FOUR PAWS TIPS

Be very careful with chocolate and flowers if cats, dogs and free-ranging small mammals live in the same household. Many of these are often poisonous for our four-legged friends – especially chocolate!

2. The Way to Someone's Heart is through their Stomach

How about a romantic homemade dinner for Valentine's Day? Do not panic! Cooking animal-friendly and plant-based meals can be very simple.

3. Animal welfare is sexy

Many people do not know that some condoms are not entirely vegetarian. They often contain the animal protein casein from cows. This Valentine's Day perhaps surprise your loved one with vegan condoms — because caring about animal welfare is truly attractive. Additionally, for those feeling more daring remember that whips do not have to be made of leather. There are many excellent alternatives available made from imitation leather and synthetic materials.

4. Pamper your loved one with animal-friendly gifts

Gifting toiletries such as moisturizer or bubble bath can be a thoughtful and indulgent present. Look for products made with natural, plant-based ingredients that are not only good for the skin but also cruelty-free. These gifts can enhance your partner's self-care routine while supporting an animal-friendly lifestyle.

Another great gift idea is to spend valuable time together, such as enjoying a lovely dinner at a nearby chic vegan restaurant. You can also make a donation in their name to an animal welfare organization that is close to their heart.

5. Say no to animal cruelty

Avoid any gifts containing fur or down, because behind what may seem like a thoughtful present, there is enormous animal suffering.

We also strongly condone gifting living animals, as this entails serious commitment of responsibility, time, and care for the animal.
