‘Little Bit of Love’ for animal welfare
UK musician Tom Grennan becomes ambassador for FOUR PAWS
May 17 2022 – British singer-songwriter and dog owner Tom Grennan has become an ambassador for animal welfare worldwide by joining forces with global animal welfare organisation FOUR PAWS. Throughout 2021 Tom shared content from the organisation calling for an end to the dog and cat meat trade in Southeast Asia and highlighting the work of FOUR PAWS Stray Animal Care teams across Eastern Europe. With his world tour continuing into 2022 Tom is hoping to see the work FOUR PAWS does first-hand as the teams strive to offer care and support for as many animals as possible.
As a self-proclaimed animal lover, Tom adopted a stray dog from Romania, called Marmite, and he is now a larger-than-life character within the Grennan family. Tom explained, ”It’s safe to say Marmite changed my life. Every time I look at him, I think of the thousands of other dogs that might not have been offered the same chances. So, if I can do something to change that by supporting FOUR PAWS than I’m all in.”
Despite repeated lockdowns and restrictions throughout 2021 FOUR PAWS still neutered and vaccinated over 14,000 dogs and cats across Europe. Moreover, the organization closed down an infamous slaughterhouse in Cambodia that had killed over one million dogs and signed an MoU with Hoi An in Vietnam to end the dog and cat meat trade, making it the first dog and cat meat-free city in the country. “We’re pleased that despite all the challenges we had to overcome in 2021 due to the pandemic, we were able to have a positive impact on thousands of companion animals around the globe. We are certain that Tom’s support will not only help us share our message to more people but ultimately reveal, rescue and protect as many animals as we can,” says Julie Sanders, Director of the Companion Animals Department at FOUR PAWS.
Tom added, “If I can do anything to make more people aware of FOUR PAWS and help them raise funds to continue their amazing work, then I’ll be a happy man. I’m doing this for Marmite and all the other dogs like him that need our support and a little bit of love to transform their lives.”
FOUR PAWS is the global animal welfare organization for animals under direct human influence, which reveals suffering, rescues animals in need, and protects them.
