The FOUR PAWS USA office is located in Boston, MA. The office was established in 2010,  is a registered 501 (c) 3 organization, and remains in good standing in the state of Massachusetts. 

Our nonprofit has received the "Top Rated" award from Greatnonprofits.org for our work and our mission's transparency.

2023 has been a momentous year. From the end of the pandemic, through the unfortunate continuation of global conflicts and war, as well as the onset of a major disaster followed by a humanitarian crisis in Türkiye and Syria, FOUR PAWS has been there along the way, advocating for animal welfare worldwide.

2022 has been challenging and often heart-breaking. With war returning to Europe, and the climate emergency affecting both animals and humans, it’s been a year of distressing headlines and hard-to- handle situations. For FOUR PAWS it’s also been a year in which we have risen to the challenge many times.

2021 also saw some major changes on a global level, thanks to the ongoing political animal welfare work carried out by FOUR PAWS. In December, the WHO member states voted to draft an international pandemic prevention agreement, which will pave the way for animal welfare to become part of the political debate on pandemics.

2020 was a challenging year for animal welfare. Travel restrictions and lockdowns made it harder than ever to rescue bears, lions and tigers but FOUR PAWS has risen to the challenges presented by the Coronavirus pandemic, continuing to fight with full strength for the welfare of suffering animals.

2019 was an important year for agricultural animal welfare, with over 170 organisations across Europe campaigning for an EU-wide ban on keeping farm animals in cages.

In 2018, FOUR PAWS was once again able to help many animals in need: we worked tirelessly in twenty-two countries across the world.

In 2017, we had branches in eleven countries and were preparing to set up three more national offices. At our five bear sanctuaries and three big cat centres, we fed and looked after 83 bears and 98 big cats every day.
